TellMiz — designed by SkyNet

TellMiz, the hotel in the guest’s pocket.

The room phone has gone. TellMiz replaces it with a QR code: your guest scans, finds what they were about to ask for, and calls you from their own phone. Designed by SkyNet, not resold under our brand.

  • No app to download
  • No hardware in the room
  • Data hosted in France

What happened in the rooms

The room phone has gone.
The need has not.

Nobody picks up a handset any more to ask for a towel. But nothing has replaced what the in-room telephone did: the direct channel to reception.

The difference comes down to one sentence

A call to reception, before and after.

Same hotel, same guest, same request. What changes is what reception sees.

Without TellMiz

What the switchboard hears

“Hello, er… I’m in room… hang on, let me look at the card… 2… no, sorry, does it say 214? Anyway, second floor, at the end of the corridor.”

On the screen: an unknown mobile number. Reception searches, asks for the name, checks the schedule. A few seconds on every call, all day long.

With TellMiz

What the switchboard sees

Room 214 Incoming call, identified before anyone has even picked up

Reception answers with a greeting and the room number. Nothing to spell out, and the request is noted in the right place.

Many calls are no longer even made: the breakfast times, the car park code or the check-out time are already there in front of them.

0 device to install in the room, nothing to wire
1 One QR code per room, and it is the code that carries the number
30 min to train your reception team, on their own handsets
100 % of data hosted in France, with no offshore subcontracting
On the guest’s side

Everything they were about to ask for,
already in their hand.

They scan the QR code in their room, and the page opens in their browser.

Their stay and their room

Check-in, check-out, vacating time, floor, air conditioning, television. No more laminated card.

Your services

Breakfast, bar, laundry, parking, night access — at the moment the question occurs to them.

Reception, at one press

The call arrives with its room already identified, and the emergency numbers are there.

Meeting room fitted with a video-conferencing screen and a handset
Fibre patch rack and network equipment in a technical cabinet
IP handset with a touchscreen
Professional router with mobile backup access
Zero maintenance

Nothing to install,
nothing to replace,
nothing to fix

No equipment in the room: nothing breaks down, nothing goes out of date, nothing ends up in the skip.

A room phone means a purchase, a cable, a handset that breaks and a technician going up to the third floor — multiplied by your rooms and by your years.

TellMiz is a sheet of paper and a web page.

  • No room phone to buy or replace.
  • No cabling, no battery, no consumable.
  • No app for the guest to download.
  • No building work : the rollout does not close a room.

One change, made once — visible in every room.

The rollout

Four steps, and not a metre of cable.

We take stock

Your rooms, your services, and the questions that come back ten times a day.

We prepare your content

Opening times, access, instructions — with you, in your guests’ languages.

We put up the QR codes

One printed card per room, carrying that room’s identity.

We connect and we train

The call arrives on your existing switchboard. Your content, you change afterwards.

Your telephony

TellMiz does not replace your switchboard.
It plugs into it.

The call leaves from the guest’s mobile and arrives on your handsets like any other incoming call. Diverts, night hours, hunt groups: nothing changes.

  • No change to your handsets or your numbers
  • The room is identified when the call comes in, not afterwards

Access, security and data

One code per room,
valid for the length of the stay.

One QR code per room

Your reception knows where the call is coming from without asking.

Access limited to the stay

It opens on arrival and closes on departure. The next guest starts from a clean page.

No account, no password

Less data collected: less risk for them, less responsibility for you.

Hosting and processing of the data. TellMiz runs on our infrastructure: our services rely on ISO 27001 and HDS certified data centres located in France. Details on our page trust and compliance.

What TellMiz does not do yet. The automatic connection to your hotel management software (the PMS) does not exist today and we do not sell it: it is under study. You deserve to know that before signing, not after.

Behind the app

An app,
and the infrastructure that carries it.

The link, the switchboard, the hosting: the same team holds the whole chain — and it is that team that answers the phone.

Your questions

What we are asked most often

Does the guest have to download an app?

No. TellMiz is a web application: the guest scans, the page opens in their browser. No download, no account — that is the condition for it to be used on a one-night stay.

Does TellMiz replace our telephony?

No, it plugs into it: TellMiz brings the room identification, your switchboard stays yours. See also the business telephony and end of the copper network.

Does TellMiz connect to our hotel management software?

Not today. Automatic connection to the PMS — the software that manages your bookings, your arrivals and your departures — is under study, and we would rather say so plainly than promise it. In practice, content and access are managed from an online interface, without depending on your PMS.

What if the guest does not have a smartphone?

They do what they have always done: they go down to reception or they call. TellMiz closes no door, it opens one more.

How many rooms does it take for this to be worthwhile?

No technical threshold: fifteen rooms as much as two hundred. What changes is the time you get back at reception — we look at that during the demonstration, with your own figures in hand.

A hotel’s WiFi is judged in the third minute

TellMiz opens on the guest’s phone, and therefore on your WiFi: if the network gives out at the far end of the corridor, the QR code leads nowhere. This article describes what is at stake between the suitcase being put down and the first image — worth reading before adding an in-room service.
